Whisky lovers, mark your calendars! The Rome Whisky Festival is back for its 13th edition on March 1st and 2nd, 2025, at the stunning Salone delle Fontane. If you’re a whisky enthusiast, bartender, distributor, or just curious about this incredible spirit, this is the event you don’t want to miss!

This year’s festival promises to be bigger and better than ever. For the first time, the event will expand beyond whisky to include other brown spirits such as Rum, Cognac, Armagnac, and Brandy, which share a rich history and craftsmanship with whisky. This addition brings even more variety for visitors to explore and enjoy.

One of the highlights of the event is the exclusive Vintage Whisky Area, a dream come true for whisky collectors. Partnering with Oro Whisky Bar, this section will showcase rare and unique bottlings such as Rosebank 17yo (1991), Bowmore Joe Millroy Selection 21yo, Clynelish 14yo from the 1980s, Macallan Sherry Oak 10yo (1990), and Hazelburn 8yo First Edition. This area offers a rare opportunity to discover and taste historical editions of some of the world’s most sought-after whiskies.

The mixology section, curated by Francesco Cimaglia from Oro Whisky Bar and the renowned bartender Daniele Gentili, will feature expertly crafted whisky-based cocktails. This is a chance to see how whisky can be transformed into creative and sophisticated drinks.

A special treat for visitors is this year’s festival bottling, a limited-edition Ardmore 2008. This Highland Single Malt, aged for 17 years in bourbon casks and bottled at 51.3% ABV, is a true representation of the festival’s passion for whisky.

Adding to the excitement, Jameson Italia is offering a free welcome drink to all visitors upon entry. Whether you are a seasoned whisky lover or a newcomer, the festival has something for everyone. The popular mini-course, 'ABC of Whisky,' is designed specifically for beginners, providing an introduction to different styles and tasting techniques.

The festival will also feature the prestigious 'Whisky & Lode' awards, where a panel of experts will blind-taste and select the best whiskies in four categories: Best Scotch Whisky, Best Cask Strength Whisky, Best World Whisky, and Best American Whiskey. This competition highlights the finest selections available at the event.

Beyond whisky, the festival offers a well-rounded tasting experience. Attendees can explore craft beer by Le Bon Bock, fine chocolates by Fonderia Dolci & Design, fresh oysters and seafood by Stagioni del Mare, and guided cigar tastings by Club Amici del Toscano. There will also be whisky travel packages by Whisky Travel and educational courses by Casa Room Enoteca. Ploom, a partner dedicated to electronic cigars, will also be present. The atmosphere will be enhanced by live music and DJ sets, ensuring a vibrant and engaging experience for all.
